Some ideas and tips for building a successful and user-friendly portfolio.
Page layout
Materials within each portfolio page are organized through a variable number of columns. The default when creating a new portfolio page is three columns but there are a lot of presets to choose from under ‘Page Layout’. Keep in mind that more columns mean shorter width, which can be a problem when including pictures and/or videos, but you will want to stay away from using just one column as it will make it hard to read content since lines will be very long (this is why newspapers have narrow columns). You can build a portfolio which includes several individual portfolio pages by creating a collection, so there is no need to include everything on only one page.
Number of files on a page
When designing a portfolio page with a variety of files, consider quality over quantity. If you include a lot of media on a single page, one thing to keep in mind is that videos and images are typically bigger than document files and take longer to load. So if you use a fair amount of video, it maybe a good idea to produce a series of pages and create a collection.
